Manual exposure
Point: You can determine the amount of exposure you want, by manually setting the aperture value and shutter speed.

-From the diagram, the manual exposure assistance (A) will appear for 10 seconds to indicate the exposure.
-If the exposure is insufficient, adjust the aperture value and shutter speed accordingly.

Do note: The manual exposure assistance is an approximation.
Tips:
The brightness of the screen may be different from the actual pictures.
The exposure is not enough whenever the shutter speed and aperture value turn RED.
In Manual Exposure, you cannot:
1) Set Slow/ Red-eye reduction
2) [AUTO] in ISO sensitivity
3) Exposure compensation

If you want to snap sharp pictures of F1 cars racing along Singapore, set it with a faster shutter speed!
BUT if you want to see a trail on the F1 cars, set it with a slower shutter speed.

Tip:
1) You cannot see the following items in Shutter-Priority AE:
2) The brightness of the screen may differ from the brightness of the actual picture.
3) It is recommended that you use a tripod when the shutter speed is slow.
4) The aperture value and the shutter speed will be red whenever there is inadequate exposure.
October 29, 2009 at 1:13 am (Instructional)
For a sharper focus background, set the aperture value to a higher number.
For a softer focus background, set the aperture value to a lower number.
*To adjust APERTURE VALUE*

TIPS:
1) If the object is too bright, set the Aperture Value to a higher value.
2) If the object is too dim, set the Aperture Value to a lower value.
3) Beware of the Aperture Value and the shutter speed going red, as it means the EXPOSURE is not adequate.

*To make the subject appear closer, rotate the zoom lever to the right*

*To make the subject appear far away, rotate the zoom lever to the left.*
Changing the zoom speed
1) Your camera is able to operate at 2-speeds; depending on the rotation angle of the zoom lever.
E.g.
[Small Rotation Angle= Slower Zoom Speed]
[Larger Rotation Angle= Faster Zoom Speed]
As illustrated from the diagram below:

Tip:
A unique feature of your camera will be the ZOOM RESUME. Basically, it means that if the feature is activated , the zoom position is stored when the camera is turned off.
Advice:
1) Focus on the subject again after using the ZOOM FUNCTION.
2) The indicated zoom magnification value is only an estimate!
3) The lens barrel extends/retract according to the zoom position. NEVER DISRUPT THE MOTION OF THE LENS BARREL.
4) In video mode, the zoom magnification is fixed at the start.
5) Do not worry about the sounds being emitted, it merely the camera’s mechanisms at work.
